Bohyun Kim
Violist Bohyun Kim hails from South Korea, where she has won prizes in multiple competitions and has served as the Assistant Principal Violist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra.

She has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. As a chamber musician, Ms. Kim was a founder and member of the Minetti string quartet as well as a member of the Tongyeong International Music Foundation Ensemble. She was invited as a guest violist by the Ensemble Aisthesis in Germany and the RTHK string quartet in Hong Kong. She has played in many major venues in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Poland, Italy, and the United States.  She has also presented solo recitals in Austria, the United States, and South Korea. She has taken part in the ISA-International Summer Academy Vienna Budapest Praha, the Music Academy of the West (Santa Barbara), and the GMMF Great Mountain Music Festival in South Korea.

As an orchestra player, she held a section violist position with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and with Kansas City Symphony.

As a soloist, her international competition experience includes the ARD competition in Munich, the Tertis International Viola Competition in the UK, the Primrose International Competition in the United States, and the Brahms International Competition in Austria.

Ms. Kim studied with Siegfried Fuehrlinger, receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts (Vienna, Austria). She received her master’s degree from Seoul National University, and earned an Artist diploma from the University of Southern California in the studio of Donald McInnes.
