
Darci Lobdell is a singer, Alexander practitioner, and yoga instructor living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Darci teaches voice and Alexander Technique at New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe and privately in Albuquerque. She leads workshops in Alexander Technique, Vocal Health and Chant, and Yoga for Vocalists. She is on the faculty at Montecito Music Festival, Los Angeles, teaching both yoga and Alexander Technique.
Darci holds a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico. She has studied with well-known voice specialists and teachers such as, Leslie Umphrey, Adriana Hardy, and Lauren Sawyer. She received a 200-hr teaching certification and an additional Vinyasa yoga certification with Barkan Method Yoga. Currently, she studies Yoga of the Voice, the study of world music and sacred chant, with the Vox Mundi Project. She participated in a four-year program with The Contemporary Alexander School where she became a certified Alexander Technique instructor in 2016.
As a professional performer, Darci has sung Oratorio and opera with groups such as Boulder Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and Quintessence. In 2009, she had her international debut with La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy. She has performed leading roles in several operas and opera scenes including Mercedes in Carmen, Terentia in Beautiful Bridegroom, Miss Pinkerton in the Old Maid and the Thief, Diana in La Calisto, Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, and Cherubino inLe Nozze de Figaro.
Darci is a very passionate educator and performer, constantly furthering her knowledge of the body, mind, voice, and music. She is dedicated to applying principles inspired by the work of F.M. Alexander to all of her teaching.
