Katie Faraudo: Resident Faculty

Katie Faraudo is an active freelance French horn player in the greater Los Angeles area. She has performed with various ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Pasadena Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, New West Symphony, and many others. As a recording artist, she has recorded for many motion picture, television, video game, and theme park projects including Rogue One, Cars 3, Deadpool, Aquaman, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Wreck It Ralph 2. She has also performed or toured with artists John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Justin Hurwitz, Danny Elfman, Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Pharrell Williams, and Seth MacFarlane. In 2017, she played principal horn for the west coast leg of the Hans Zimmer Live tour, including two performances at Coachella. You can also hear her on the titular track of Kesha’s latest album, Rainbow.

Katie received her Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, and previously a Bachelor of Music degree from The New School’s Mannes College of Music in New York City. Her main musical mentors include Jim Thatcher and Rainier DeIntinis. While in New York, she was selected as a participant for the New York String Seminar at Carnegie Hall. She has also spent four seasons playing in the orchestra for the St. Bart’s Music Festival in the French West Indies.

In addition to playing, she has a passion for teaching and maintains a private teaching studio of middle and high school-aged students.
