Jichen Li

Jichen Li is a passionate cellist and dedicated educator whose artistry has resonated with audiences across the globe. A graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts, Jichen has established himself as both a captivating performer and a mentor to aspiring musicians.

With a rich history of orchestral leadership, he currently holds positions as Cello Subtitle with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, blending technical mastery with a profound musical sensitivity. Jichen has served as Principal Cellist in numerous ensembles, including the Rutgers University Symphony Orchestra and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, showcasing his ability to lead and inspire.

As an educator, Jichen is equally committed to fostering a love of music in his students. He teaches at Drew University and has held artistic faculty positions at institutions like the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey Summer Camp and Rutgers University. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the balance between technical precision and emotional expression, empowering students to find their unique voice.

Jichen’s journey is marked by accolades, including multiple first prizes in international and national competitions, reflecting his dedication to his craft.
