Benjamin Bartelt

Violin/Viola Session 1,2, and 4

Benjamin Bartelt enjoys a multi-faceted career as a violinist, violist and educator across the greater Los Angeles area. As a performer, his activities are many and varied, ranging from orchestral work to musical theatre and opera productions, to playing back-up for popular music artists, and working as a recording artist for film and television.
An active chamber musician, Benjamin has performed extensively around Los Angeles, including concerts for the Burbank Chamber Music Society, Camerata Pacifica, Colburn Chamber Music Society, Dilijan Chamber Music Series, Enlightenment Music Series, Laos Chamber Music Series, New Zimro Ensemble, Norton Simon Chamber Music Series, Pacific Serenades, and many more.
Benjamin is also a founding member of the Euler String Quartet of Los Angeles, which had the mission of performing the music of living LA-based composers.
A vocal advocate for new music, he has premiered numerous compositions, as a chamber musician, orchestral player, and as soloist.
As an educator, Benjamin has taught violin and viola section classes at schools throughout the city; coaches the violins at the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra; and teaches a large number of private lessons to violin and viola students. Benjamin believes strongly in passing on knowledge of classical music to future generations, and is excited to be teaching at Montecito this summer.
When he’s not making music, Benjamin can be found in the garden, where he specializes in growing herbs and vegetables.
